Please allow me to introduce myself
I have directed, edited, written and produced feature documentaries that have screened around the world
I have directed 230 and edited 120 episodes of non-scripted television
I’ve composed music scores for several TV series and produced the first recordings of the Beastie Boys
This work has garnered me fifteen awards or nominations, including three CSA noms as best director and best editor
Filming Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett
In short, my body of experience - from creation to final cut - has given me rare insight into all aspects of production and story
And all of that experience goes into every cut I make, every thread I follow, and every character I feature
Whether as director or editor my goal is to ensure that all story points are followed through and tied together, even when inevitable real-life challenges try to throw things for a loop
I strive to bring out the best in the footage, maximizing the humour, fun and/or drama of every scene and character to make unforgettable entertainment
I’m known for creating a style for brand new series or following the look of an existing one, polishing and troubleshooting projects when the going gets tough, and everything in between - blending creativity with collaboration to craft compelling media
Appearing on Canada AM
At the CSA’s, where I was nominated for Best Director
My mantra is: every episode has an arc, every act has an arc, and every scene has an arc
But ultimately, the focus is always on engaging, fun and compelling characters - I mean, without that…what’ve you got?
